This movie was announced early 2010, and it had everyone casted except for Hiddleston, because Michael Fassbender was to play his character. Of course, the moment I heard the names Tilda Swinton and Michael Fassbender with the word ‘vampire,’ I knew I just found a movie about my favourite supernatural creatures that didn’t sparkle like the most of them, at that moment.
So I kept track, through the whole not having funding, to having it and to deciding to film in Detroit to have that whole apocalyptic feel. Then in 2012, Hiddleston replaced Fassbender, and I was still, if not more, excited about the whole thing.
Because to me, Tilda Swinton + Anyone (especially Fassbender or Hiddleston = Epic. It will always be epic. Her being a vampire is just a huge plus.
